 Laws are meant to protect citizens. Sometimes the majority of the public cannot see that there are flawed policies behind their laws. Because the majority is blind to smaller, less mainstream movements, special interest groups spend a lot of time and money in ending or even repealing existing laws. Our legal system is intended to be transparent but in reality it is complicated and specialized and requires knowledge and time to understand the subtle nuances of the law and the legal system that stands behind the law.
